"Rene...! You are not early!"
"ahhhh....!"
"ahhhh....!"
The rain just played it's last note. The air around us is somewhat fresher. The clouds are making way, shuning the star glimps and it's elegent moon. Along the avenue, stood slightly more than 20 stalls and between each one of them, a cherry blossom tree resided. We walked down the road admiring one of the last few days of summer break. Bright, colourful lanterns were hung above the stalls. A long banner was put up by the eaves of each stall with huge japanese characters. The fairground was packed. Delightful citizens of all ages gleefully chatting away with each other. More people are coming around. I held Rene's hand in mine tightly. She stared at me.
"I'm not gonna lose you tonight"
"What about tomorrow night?"
I found a marble bench below a particularly huge cherry blossom tree. We sat there watching the crowd. Rene laid her head on my shoulders as an array of red, blue, orange and purple fireworks sprawl themselves on the bed of the once gloomy night sky.
